Overview
In 2024 JIFE distributed 10,000 Brazilian Jumbo Cashew seedlings to farmers in Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, under an initiative titled Planting the Tree of Generational Wealth.
The foundation set the programme a target of empowering 10,000 households in Irepodun LGA and its environs, a figure printed on the programme’s own launch banner. JIFE has described the initiative as connected to its earlier computer-skills empowerment work.
Cashew is a long crop. Trees planted in 2024 are still years from bearing, so what the programme set out to build is not yet something anyone can count.
